作者 楊錫鏘牧師 曾為香港執業醫生，後蒙召修讀神學，畢業於加拿大維真學院。1980年加入中國神學研究院事奉的行列，任該院聖經科教授兼校牧。2013年8月正式退休，現為該院訪問教授兼榮譽校牧。楊牧師專長於聖經原文研究，著有新舊約原文教科書四冊、釋經講道集三冊，亦曾參與中文聖經的翻譯工作。他的負擔是為教會和職場領袖提供聖經教導的訓練，將學識與生命結合；使神學生建穩原文釋經的基礎，並學習解開和實踐神話語中的活潑信息。他關注神學生靈命的培育和成長，因為事奉的素質繫於生命的內涵。
