Siglufjörður Playing cards depicting the NorseText on back of card: Siglufjrur is a fishing village in the north of Iceland with a population of approximately 1,400. From 1903 to 1965 the town experienced the rise and peak of the famous herring boom. This is fascinatingly documented in words and artifacts at the Herring Era Museum. Though the boom eventually ended, the main industry still remains fishing. Siglufjrur offers many other interesting sights and events like the Icelandic Folk Music
