German WW1 Iron Cross 1st Class EK1 - Rare Screwback Private Purchase talbot Single chain and leather shoulderA rare and desirable private purchase Iron Cross 1st Class (EK1) from World War I, featuring a concave two piece screwback construction. The reverse of the silver frame is marked "800", indicating 80% silver content, and includes a large domed screwback disc for uniform attachment. The iron core retains its black painted finish with wear consistent with age. By its age it's presumed to have been awarded retroactively after the 31st of May 1924. Issued
